—I.C.S. in Summer—
—Swami Sivananda—
Lord Vishnu was the governor of Bombay. Takore went to Vishnu and said, "Good morning, your Excellency! I want the job of a Collector." Lord Vishnu said, "Who are you?" Takore replied, "I am an I.C.S. in summer and P.C.S. in winter." (I.C.S.—Indian Civil Service and P.C.S.—Provincial Civil Service refer to persons holding very high administrative government posts in India)

Lord Vishnu said, "What do you mean by I.C.S. in summer and P.C.S. in winter?" Takore replied, "I am an ice-cream seller in summer and potato-chips-seller in winter."

The governor called his peon and said, "Lakshman! Turn this I.C.S. out at once. Tell him there is no job for him." Lakshman necked the I.C.S. out at once.
