That was an occasion of an Ashram festival. Swamiji was sitting on his seat. Devotees, with packets of sweets, fruits etc. in their hands, were pouring into the place where Swamiji was sitting. Beside Swamiji was sitting Swami Hridayananda Mataji to take care of Swamiji's health. Swamiji was a little indisposed and had been advised against taking sweetmeats. Hridayananda Mataji was keeping a close eye on the packets of sweets to ensure that their contents did not reach Swamiji.
A devotee had brought some Laddoos. He requested Swamiji to eat at least one Laddoo. Hridayananda Mataji looked at him sternly and in a flash Swamiji ate one Laddoo to please the devotee. Startled Hridayananda Mataji said, "What have you done Swamiji?"
Swamiji said smilingly, "What could I have done Mataji? That Laddoo just flew into my mouth before I could say 'no' to it."
The master was lying on deathbed. The disciple said, "Master, don't leave me, otherwise I will die."
And, sixty years after the master's death, the disciple really died!
He was true to his words!
