—Sri Swami Sivananda—
Commentary: You should not depend upon servants—not only paid servants but upon anybody for your work. You should not hesitate to do your work yourself simply because you think that your parents or guardians have high social status or they can afford to hire servants for you. While on tours Sri Swami Sivanandaji was given a warm reception wherever he detrained. But soon after that without thinking that a minute ago he was garlanded and without giving a chance to anybody to carry his luggage he would put his bedding or trunk on his head and come out of the station.
Do not be ashamed to wash your clothes and sweep your room yourself. Relying on your own strength and powers and not depending on others to get your works done is a quality which assures that
—your work will not be delayed.
—your work will be accomplished to your satisfaction.
