The Divine Life Society was founded by Most Worshipful Gurudev H.H. Sri Swami Sivanandaji Maharaj in the year 1936. The Society has a large number of Branches in India and abroad. Sri Divya Jivan Sanskrutik Sangh, Jodhpur Tekri, Ahmedabad, (Gujarat) is not a Branch of The Divine Life Society, Rishikesh. Sri Swami Adhyatmananda who was an initiated disciple and Sanyasin once in the past, of The Divine Life Society, Shivanandanagar, has been removed from the Divine Life Society (P. 0. ShIvanandanagar – 249 192, Dist: Tehri-Garhwal, Uttarakhand). A notification about this was issued by The Divine Life Society through its monthly Magazines “The Divine Life” in English and “Divya Jivan” in Hindi in their issue of October and November, 2001. Letters in this connection were sent to him and to all Branches of The Divine Life Society in Gujarat by me as President of the Divine Life Society. Also, a meeting of all the Divine Life Society Branches of Gujarat was called and they were briefed about this.
It has come to our notice that Sri Divya Jivan Sanskrutlk Sangh, Divya Jivan Sangh, Navarangapura Branch, Ahmedabad and Sri Sivananda Jnana Yajna Nidhi have recently published the Books, Photos etc. of The Divine Life Trust Society, without our permission. The Copyright of all the Books of The Divine Life Society vests with The Divine Life Trust Society. In some of the Books of The Divine Life Society published by them, the Photos of the said Swami are seen published which comes under blatant violation of the Copyright Act.
In the circumstances it is notified to all concerned that the institutions, Sri Divya Jivan Sanskrutik Sangh, Divya Jivan Sangh, Navarangapura Branch, Sri Sivananda Jnana Yajna Nidhi or any other organizations associated with it are prohibited from publishing any Books or extracts culled from the Books on which The Divine Life Trust Society holds Copyright and also the Photographs of Swami Chidananda in any of their Magazines, Periodicals, Pamphlets, News letters, Greeting Cards, Calendars etc. It is surprising and regrettable that being spiritual organizations, they are not adhering to normal ethical and moral codes.
All letters, to whomsoever they were issued in Gujarat by me, Swami Chidananda, President, The Divine Life Society Headquarters, permitting to print Books of The Divine Life Society stand cancelled with immediate effect.
If any organisation jointly or severally or any other, violate the rules and publish the Books which are properties of The Divine Life Trust Society and Copyright protected, The Divine Life Trust Society and The Divine Life Society will be constrained to proceed against such institution or individuals, legally to safeguard it’s interest. This is for information of all concerned.
